We believe in sharing education and resources with the communities we serve. The Balance Centers regularly donate time and resources for community events, balance classes, and more. Below are some of the projects are proud to have contributed to. Free Parkinson Disease Informational Session for Patients and Families
This session was developed to help empower patients living with Parkinson Disease (PD) and their families to understand the transformative power of exercise in managing PD.
Maine Needs Holiday Drive
Our staff and generous patients contributed to a winter holiday drive for an amazing local organization that helps Mainers meet their basic needs via community efforts.
"Jog Your Memory"
This free community event focused on providing education to older adults about memory loss and the benefits of regular exercise to help prevent the onset and progression of cognitive impairments.
Dempsey Challenge 2022
Members of our staff participated in fundraising for the 2022 Dempsey Challenge! In total, we raised over $2000 with the help of our community.
New England Parkinson's Ride
We sponsored a rest stop at the 2022 New England Parkinson's Ride! This great event raises funding for Parkinson Disease Research.
"Roll With It"
We developed this free class sharing interesting research about 'safe landing strategies' to use during a fall with community partners.
Free Community Balance Screenings
We provide annual, free community balance and strength screenings during the Fall Season utilizing the CDC's 'Steadi Toolkit'. These screenings with Physical Therapists provide individuals with knowledge of their individual risk for falling as well as information about how to minimize that risk!
